Today, Funko announced another awesome addition to their line of fun figures, Alfred Hitchcock. It appears that the infamous filmmaker and master of suspenseful movies isn’t immune from the Funko Pop! craze. What makes this Funko Pop! so special is that Hitchcock will be a black and white figure. This is an obvious nod to all of his world-renowned thrillers that he began directing back in 1925.
Hitchcock got his first big break as a director with the American film Rebecca which won an Academy Award for best picture in 1940. He later created more than 50 fifty thrillers, with most considered a staple for any serious movie connoisseur. His influence and artistry were so deeply ingrained in each film that the industry refers to the films he directed as “Alfred Hitchcock’s”.
It seems only fitting that the company Funko released a new toy of the iconic film director. Funko originally released bobblehead toys with a nostalgic theme. Their first Funko bobblehead was that of the restaurant mascot for Big Boy. One of their current and perhaps most popular line of toys is the Pop! figures which are styled after Japanese Chibi, or style of anime which means “short and cute.”
This adorable black and white Hitchcock Pop! will be available sometime this October in the directors’ series.
