Red Dead Redemption 2 Gameplay Video Does Not Disappoint

Rockstar just released their first gameplay video for Red Dead Redemption 2. Surely, the level of immersion and detail in the game will delight players for hours. In this six-minute video, Rockstar gives future players an inside glimpse of the rich storytelling and in-depth experiences to come in their soon-to-be-released console game for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Rockstar’s goal is to give not only an open world but one with an eye for the smallest of details to add a more believable and immersed gameplay. The game combines action, storytelling, and gameplay in new ways, all to give players a realistic feel for adventuring in the Wild West. As you live, ride and fight to survive in the Van der Linde outlaw gang as Arthur Morgan, a fellow outlaw. The story takes place across America’s heartland and frontier in a time when outlaws are fading to the past.

Part 1: Gameplay

The game tries to capture a time when the Wild West was ending, along with outlaws, and the modern age was beginning. As part of a band of outlaws, the game gives the players opportunities to get to know each of the gang (or not) and all the responsibilities of being part of that gang. You get to choose how much you interact with the gang and will alternate how the game and its NPC’s interact with you. Your actions have direct consequences in the game and determine just how honorable Arthur is.

Rockstar has significantly improved shooting and fighting including realistic gun fighting and response. They’ve even provided realistic bonding with your horse which also determines gameplay. Build trust with your horse, and it will react better in situations. Even the type of horse will alter gameplay.
