After being fired from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, the future seemed uncertain for James Gunn. Now, a new report seems to indicate that he’s found himself a new employer in the form of the DCEU.
Despite multiple petitions to reinstate him, Disney has held firm on their decision to fire Guardians of the Galaxy Director James Gunn. This has led to many fans wondering: Will DC attempt to hire the talented writer and director? It would seem an answer has been given.
According to TheWrap, James Gunn is set to write Warner Bros. Suicide Squad sequel, with a possibility of directing.
Gunn was fired by Disney in July after numerous offensive tweets were dug up by detractors of Gunn. His horror project for Sony, which has been revealed to be titled BrightBurn, was set to release next month, and has since been delayed to April of 2019.
Suicide Squad 2 is set to release in 2019, with stars Will Smith and Margo Robbie set to return.
