After a tumultuous development, The Walking Dead: The Final Season is arriving soon on a new platform on the PC. New customers on the PC can buy the current episodes and the future ones on the Epic Games Store as they release.
The Walking Dead: The Final Season has had a pretty messy development over the past few months. When Telltale went under, it seemed likely that the remaining two episodes wouldn’t be completed. Fortunately, Skybound Games stepped in and managed to pick up the last two episodes, and one of these episodes releases in less than a month. However, there is a bit of wonkiness regarding the season’s episodes, both unreleased and released but pulled from stores.
In the video above, Melissa Hutchison, the voice of Clementine, answers some questions about how it’ll work. If you’ve purchased the episodes, upcoming or otherwise, on Steam or GOG, you’ll get the rest of the episodes on that platform. Otherwise, players will have to pick up any episodes of The Final Season on the Epic Games Store. In a joint statement, Skybound CEO Ian Howe and President of Interactive Dan Murray said:
The team at Epic owns a major chapter in the history of the game industry. We’re excited to work together on their latest transformative event with the launch of the Epic Games Store. Epic stepped up to the plate immediately to work with us in order to bring the original team back together and ensure fans will receive the completed season of Telltale’s The Walking Dead: The Final Season.
Episode 3 of The Walking Dead: The Final Chapter releases on the Epic Games Store January 15, 2019.
