The Wall Crawler is back! After months of rumored trailer releases, Marvel has finally given fans the first trailer for the next installment in the MCU, Spider-Man: Far From Home.
The trailer features the first look at a world following Avengers: Endgame, although makes no reference to the upcoming blockbuster. The trailer also prominently features the debut of the Elementals, four beings who might be the most self-explanatory villains in Marvel History. Other spectacles from the trailer include budding romance between MJ and Peter, as well as Happy and Aunt May, much to Peter’s bewilderment.
But without a doubt the moment that most fans will be talking about is the debut of Mysterio, portrayed by Jake Gyllenhaal. Sporting a comic-accurate suit complete with a fishbowl helmet, this classic villain appears to be helping Spidey take on the Elementals, although fans have been careful not to take these actions at face value. It is never a good idea to trust the actions of a man whose superpower is literally just creating illusions.
Spider-Man: Far From Home releases on July 5, and stars Tom Holland, Zendaya, Samuel L. Jackson, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Colbie Smulders.
