Patty Jenkins, director of Wonder Woman has announced the villain for upcoming sequel to the hit film. Announcing it on her twitter account, Jenkins has revealed that Kristen Wiig will be playing the Cheetah in the upcoming Wonder Woman 2. Known for her work on Saturday Night Live and Bridesmaid, Wiig will be playing one of Diana Prince’s oldest villains in her rogues gallery. For those not familiar with the comics Cheetah was known as Priscilla Rich, an upper class woman who hated Wonder Woman out of jealousy and was granted powers by a rival god so Priscilla could kill her. The character has gone through multiple incarnations since her first appearance in 1943, but has remained as Wonder Woman’s most famous villain.
So excited to confirm the most thrilling news. Yes! It’s true! So incredibly lucky to welcome the sensationally talented Kristen Wiig to our Wonder Woman family. Can't wait to finally work with one of my favorites. And SO excited by what we have planned. #Cheetah!!! @GalGadot pic.twitter.com/Gn0jICiIAH
