Donald Glover’s planned Deadpool animated series for FX has been killed before it even got started. Being produced by the Glover brothers, the animated comedy was canceled due to a creative conflict between the brothers, FX and Marvel Studios. FX as released a statement clarifying the situation:
“Due to creative differences, FX, Donald Glover, Stephen Glover and Marvel Television have agreed to part ways on Marvel’s Deadpool animated series, FX will no longer be involved with the project. FX and Marvel have an ongoing relationship through our partnership on Legion, which will continue.”
With the deal fallen apart, the only way a Deadpool series would be made is if FOX decide to make its own. With the character’s rise in popularity in recent years, it’s unfortunate to see a promising project get closed down. The Glover’s claimed they wanted to create a new take on the character that separated itself from the most recent depictions.
