Why Oh Why Does Captain America Have a Beard in ‘Avengers: Infinity War’?; Chris Evans Answers

Fans have been boggled for weeks on why Captain America (Steve Rogers) has a beard in the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War footage. Since his reveal in Captain America: The First Avenger, he’s always been barren face. See the response by the actor, Chris Evans, here!

Numerous fans of Avengers and Marvel have been wondering what happened to our clean-shaven Avenger, and Chris Evans has divulged his own opinion on the character he portrays.

“He’s such a monastic character and he has such a quotidian approach to his existence. I imagine when he wakes up in the morning, there is a routine. Part of that is in his nature, part of that is just to keep his sanity, and that all kind of goes out the window a little bit after (2016’s Captain America: Civil War). You see a guy who doesn’t stop caring but just puts down some of that obligation.”

This response is no surprise when you look at the history of Captain America. When we first met him on the big screen in Captain America: The First Avenger, it showed his origin story and then lead into how he came to the present time. Following that, we saw him appear in the first Avengers film, where the team is being put together with the (somewhat late) Phil Coulson. During this time, Cap still has a lot of his old feelings and attitudes about him that don’t change much, but instead help define the team. If you are one of those who prefer Cap without the beard and you yourself has one, grab some beard trimmers or grooming kits from Product Expert and look younger!

Fast forward to Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Rogers is reunited with his old friend, Bucky Barnes (Winter Soldier), while Hydra comes out of the shadows of S.H.I.E.L.D. and attempts to overtake the world and kill off Nick Fury in the process. This leads into the next Avengers movie, Age of Ultron where the team is now up against Iron Man’s own creation, Ultron. Cap, being the moral guidance of the team, gives it to Stark straight, in saying how he is just as careless as his father and made a large mistake that leads to irrevocable circumstances.

Fast forward again, and we find Cap in Captain America: Civil War where friend and friend are pinned against each other over what they find is right and wrong with the Sokovia Accords. Cap’s team believes they can’t be restricted, whereas Stark’s team believes they must abide by the law to protect it. What was extremely unexpected is that Bucky Barnes changed Stark’s life forever when he was ordered to take out Howard Stark and his wife as the Winter Soldier.

When you think of the character development of our dear Steve Rogers, not only was he taken from his time, and brought into this new world; but he’s faced heartbreak and destruction at the hands of their enemies. He’s still Cap, and he still cares about the world, but he is no longer the perfect man and figure that the world had and needed. He is a man who is simply doing his best and needs to let go of some of his perfection.

With Avengers: Infinity War premiering on April 27th 2018, you only have a little less than a week to wait.
