NBC Rescues Brooklyn Nine Nine from FOX

Brooklyn Nine Nine was initially cancelled by FOX, so NBC has gone ahead and picked up the series for a final 13 episode sixth season.

The series Brooklyn Nine Nine just wrapped up the fifth season and was set to be removed by FOX alongside Lucifer and The Exorcist. Since the announcement two days ago, fans have gone crazy on social media and pleaded for the series to come back.

Robert Greenblatt the Chairman for NBC Entertainment put out a statement on the network picking up Brooklyn Nine Nine for a sixth season on NBC:

“Ever since we sold this show to Fox I’ve regretted letting it get away, and it’s high time it came back to its rightful home.

Mike Schur, Dan Goor, and Andy Samberg grew up on NBC and we’re all thrilled that one of the smartest, funniest, and best cast comedies in a long time will take its place in our comedy line-up. I speak for everyone at NBC, here’s to the Nine-Nine!”

Although the series is being picked up for another season, it is only 13 episodes.
