Halo Getting An Arcade Shoot-Em-Up

Halo Getting An Arcade Shoot-Em-Up

As a sudden departure to the series’s normal format, 343 Industries has announced that the next entry in the Halo series will be a light gun arcade game. This new game titled Halo: Fireteam Raven, will be a collaboration project with Raw Thrills and Play Mechanix, who have plenty of experience when it comes to arcade shooters like Aliens Armageddon and The Walking Dead. The game’s story will put the players in shoes of a group of ODST elites fighting against the Covenant along side Master Chief. However, the main draw of this game isn’t the story, but of the arcade machine itself.

The arcade machine will feature a 130-inch 4K TV and controllers modeled after turret-mounted machine guns. Game will feature a large selection weapons from the Halo universe, from plasma pistols to needlers. Another interesting tidbit is that 343 intend to integrate the game with Halo Waypoint, an online encyclopedia of the in-game world. This will also allow players to log their scores online and build an online leader board to competition between players. The game will be available sometime in the summer at Dave and Busters all over the country. We have to wait and see how this interesting new project will turn out. The trailer for the game can be found below.
