Wonder Woman was a spectacular DC Entertainment film directed by Patty Jenkins, and it’s no surprise that a sequel is already being set up. We have the official teaser for the sequel here, directly from Geoff Johns CCO of DC Films and co-chairman.
It was speculated that the movie would be in the 80s, and today we officially have the proof that it will. According to Johns, the new logo features a WW and 84, hinting that the movie is set in 1984.
This date coincides with the Cold War, which happened from 1947 to 1991, but there is no confirmation yet on what the synopsis or even title will be.
Patty Jenkins will be returning to direct Wonder Woman 2, and create the script with Dave Callahan and Geoff Johns. Gal Gadot will be reprising her role as Wonder Woman/Diana Prince, while Kristen Wiig will be joining in to play villain Cheetah.
Wonder Woman 2 is set for a November 1st 2019 release. We’ll keep you informed as new details develop.
