Watch: Fallout: New California Trailer

After spending several years developing Fallout: New California, Radian-Helix Media has announced the conversion mod for Fallout: New Vegas is finally ready.

The aforementioned mod will release on October 23rd of 2018, and be a prequel to Fallout: New Vegas, where players will find themselves having to battle a race of super mutants, fighting for the ability to survive and gain control over the New California Republic that is being established in the Lawless Mojave Desert in the year 2060.

Radian-Helix Media says that everything is being polished before the game’s release, stating that art and other aspects of the game are being assessed. If you are a fan of the Fallout: New Vegas game franchise, the excitement of Fallout: New California may be overwhelming.

Brandan Lee, the project lead behind Fallout: New California has reasoning as to why the mod needs to wait until October.

“Because something is missing – and all the testing guys noticed – is side quests. Again, not the end of the world, but you hit this story with huge replete branches 16,000 lines of dialogue deep and you expect some little moments with characters off to the side of the big arcs, and there just aren’t that many of note. Again, because there was no one to code it! I’d also like to take time to revise some plot holes and gaps in the open possibilities that appeared in testing, and more streamlined opportunities for branches that aren’t so hidden in past decisions that you’re locked into a tunnel til the next major turn.”

Fallout: New Vegas is taking beta sign-ups as early as July 2018, meaning that excited fans can join teams of players first experiencing the game. Fallout franchise players will also be able to explore the fallen cities they’ve come to know and love, and get in on the exciting post-apocalyptic action early!

Fallout: New Vegas adds to the canon of the Fallout franchise and gives players a world as well as exciting new environments to explore. There will be another addition to the Fallout franchise, as the fourth installment of Fallout: New Vegas is in the works.

In the meantime, Bethesda announced Fallout 76, and is anticipated to release more information during E3 2018.

We’ll keep you informed of all Fallout news as it develops.
