Sea of Thieves announced two new updates at the Microsoft E3 2018 presentation on Sunday. The upcoming DLC expansions are due to be released in July and September of this year.
In the past, Sea of Thieves had been scrutinized for their lack of content which may explain why the two extensions that were announced this past Sunday are being released so close together. Sea of Thieves: Cursed Sails is set to be released in July of this year, while, Sea of Thieves: Forsaken Shores is due in September.
While the trailer for these expansions was, most certainly, alluring it didn’t give much in the way of information on the games themselves; it does, however, promise a ‘sea’ of new threats, including ‘an ancient evil’ that has been set loose on the world. Cursed Sails is rumored to offer an entirely new ship types and Forsaken Shores will offer a new area for the players to explore.
Regardless of the new additions, the new Sea of Thieves expansions still have the same familiar game mechanics and sense of humor that we’ve come to know and love.
