Ubisofts The Crew 2 is an ambitious massive open world racing game, which just launched this week. Sadly, players who bought the game on Steam are locked out.
RSP happened to noticed the problem early. The combining of Ubisoft uPlay along with Steam, seems to be issue. Players are told they need an activation key which is yet to be released. It seems as if the issue won’t be addressed until Valve itself gets involved.
Eurogamer contacted Valve about the problem, with them stating:
“We’re aware of an issue where some players are not able to access their Steam preorder of The Crew 2. We are working together with Steam to resolve this issue as soon as possible and we’ll continue to keep you updated here regarding the fix.”
Ubisoft has had this problem, in the past when The Crew originally launched in 2014. The racer released without the ability for players to form crews, while the name of the game implies that this is a major part of the game. The irony here is just delicious!
The Crew 2 available on Steam, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
