Watch: Slender Man Official Trailer

Official trailer for the cult classic CreepyPasta story Slender Man.

The official Slender Man movie has gotten a trailer, and it looks creepier than ever! Watch it for yourself here.

“Slender Man tells the story of a tall, thin, horrifying figure with unnaturally long arms and a featureless face, who is reputed to be responsible for the haunting and disappearance of countless children and teens.”

Black smoke tendrils, faceless, stretched out distorted limbs, and a tux. A sensation that hit Creepypasta in 2010 had been made into short games that plenty of YouTubers have covered. Now in 2018 we have a full-length film of the short story that has developed a cult following of sorts.

The film itself takes place in Massachusetts, the home of four teenage girls who perform a ritual to try to call upon Slender Man, in a ploy to try to disprove of this urban legend. Once the ritual is performed one of the girls goes missing. The disappearance causing a series of events that will prove the urban legend to be true.

The story reminds me of the Slender Man stabbing that occurred back in 2014 where these two girls of 12 years old had lured a friend into the woods. The two girls violently stabbed the other 12-year-old girl to try to prove themselves worthy of Slender Man. Both girls will be serving their time in a mental hospital as they had told the authorities that they were trying to appease the demon.

In terms of the Slender Man movie, it will be directed by Sylvain White, and is written by David Birke. As for the cast, we’ll see Joey King, Julia Goldani-Telles, Jaz Sinclair, Annalise Basso, and Javier Botet. You can find the official information regarding the movie below.

We’ll keep you posted as details develop closer to the August 24th 2018 release!
