Grand Theft Auto 6 is not being released in 2019, although pop-ups advertising GTA’s next installment have been showing up the last few days.
Pop-up messages in GTA Online say that GTA 6 will be here in 2019, and the appearances of these pop-ups have been reported by many players.
Many users reported seeing these misleading pop-ups, and fans of the Grand Theft Auto franchise have taken screenshots to show proof. The pop ups are more than likely the result of hackers. Screenshots come from the PlayStation 3, PC and Xbox 360 versions of GTA Online, where players sometimes use mods.
Rockstar said on Twitter that the pop-up is a “hoax”, and that it originated from a mod, addeding that it is “not an official message or statement from Rockstar Games”.
This is a hoax made with the use of mods, and not an official message or statement from Rockstar Games. *OV

It’s very strange that a video game developer would want to make this information widely available, and it’s even stranger still to suggest that a publisher for that same developer would in any way want to release this information.
While GTA 6 is not on the horizon, Rockstar fans can get excited about the release of Red Dead Redemption 2, scheduled for October 26, 2018.
We’ll keep you posted on any new Rockstar news!
