Watch: Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald SDCC Trailer

At San Diego Comic Con, a new Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald trailer was released, and gave more detail into the extent of which the film will connect with Harry Potter.

Though this trailer does give information directly for the film, Potter fans have found interesting details that connect to the original series. Among some of them are The Mirror of Erised (Sorcerer’s Stone), The Elder Wand (Deathly Hallows), and Nicholas Flamel (Sorcerer’s Stone).

In addition to this, we also see a very young Newt Scamander during his Defense Against the Dark Arts class, dealing with a Boggart using the Riddikulus spell.

As a Harry Potter fan, I can’t wait to see this film and discover how Flamel links in with Scamander, and exactly why Dumbledore can’t act on Grindelwald. We know from J.K. Rowling’s secrets that Dumbledore was smitten with Grindelwald after spending a summer in Godric’s Hollow with him; but it’s never really explained in the original series what happened between the two. Not to mention having the Mirror of Erised within the film should give some insight.

We’ll keep you informed on any new Fantastc Beasts or Harry Potter news!
