The Drunks and Dragons podcast crew created a Kickstarter for their new co-operative drinking card game Drinks and Daggers. Carmic Industries based their game in the entertaining world from their now infamous podcast. In a rapid 3.5 hours, the Drunks and Dragons team hit their target and are now at 208% of their $25,000 goal.
If you love podcasts and humor, then you’ve surely heard of Drunks and Dragons. Broadcasting since November 2012, Drunks and Dragons features an actual active playing improvised Dungeons and Dragons game, but with a hilarious and drunken twist. Mayhem usually ensues during the weekly broadcast that has entertained thousands of geeks and nerds, so much so that there is even an annual convention celebrating it.
It was no surprise that this silly band of nerds decided a couple of years ago to come out with a game of their own. Designed for 2-4 players, the game should take about 20-30 minutes to play according to one of their designers. You don’t have to play drunk (uh, why not?) as the game is designed for both sober and inebriated alike. You also don’t have to be familiar with the podcast to enjoy or follow along in the game. But seriously, go listen for yourselves, it’s good fun.
Future plans for the game are to bring out additional cards with new characters, villains, and bosses. This game’s plan of longevity and re-playability is promising with the fun humor and entertaining gameplay. Donations grant tons of cool swag depending on the level. There are still tons of cool stuff to nab. The Kickstarter will be live until October 5, 2018.
