Katamari Damacy Rolls Onto the Switch and PC

Bandai Namco has announced the HD port of their beloved roly-poly classic. Katamari Damacy Re-roll makes its way to the Nintendo Switch and PC.

Not Again, Your Highness!

Originally released in 2004, Katamari Damacy sees you take on the role of the Prince. After a night of drinking, the King of All Cosmos has knocked all of the stars from the sky. Like any great ruler, he’s shifted the responsibility onto you, his son.

Thanks, dad.

Your goal is to create new stars. To do this, he gives you a sphere, the Katamari, that allows you to collect whatever items it rolls over. As you do, it grows in size which gives you the ability to collect even bigger items.

At the end of each stage, you’re scored on how big you were able to make your Katamari within the time limit. It sounds easy, but there are plenty of traps and obstacles you must face all while preventing stuff from being knocked off your Katamari. The cute, sometimes bizarre, Japanese styled imagery and J-pop soundtrack make this a truly entertaining experience.

The HD port will offer this same experience with a few added extras.

Katamari Damacy REROLL will feature remastered graphics and cut scenes as well as new motion controls unique for the Nintendo Switch version. Using two Joy-Cons in TV mode or table-top mode, players can move the Prince around with ease by simply turning their wrists. Players can also play in a multiplayer mode on the Nintendo Switch with one Joy-Con each.

Katamari Damacy Reroll rolls onto the Nintendo Switch eShop and PC Digital December 7, 2018.
