Rumored Harry Potter RPG Leaked

Alleged leaked footage of an upcoming Harry Potter based RPG has been released online. It’s only been out for a few hours, but already buzz is spreading about the potential that this game would create.

Back To Hogwarts

Early this morning, leaked footage rumored to be an upcoming Harry Potter RPG was leaked, and fans are shook! The clip is only about a minute and a half long, but it shows off lots of potential were this to be actual in-game footage. For starters, it looks like players would be able to create their own characters, something that has been desperately sought after since Harry first got his acceptance letter back in 1997.

Many things to note from the trailer are the ability to cast spells, beast encounters, and exploring many of the locations from the books and movies. It looks like it will be a mix of the sleuthing we have seen from the Potter gang as well as action-packed moments where you’re fighting nasties and even dueling other wizards!

Seriously, just take my money already!

Too Good To Be True?

However, despite the fantastic (Ha, see what I did there?) looking game footage, it needs to be said that all of this should be taken with a grain of salt. The source of this footage and game info was provided by Reddit user VapeThisBro who claims to have sneakily recorded the video during a focus group meeting. He even goes on to state some key details about the game:

Set in the 19th Century (1800’s) Wizarding World, this 3rd person open-world action RPG game centers around your character with unique abilities who has eared a late acceptance to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. You are a newly arrived 5th year student to Hogwarts that demonstrates a latent gift for magic with a unique ability to track and identify remnants of a pottant ancient power.

Upon arrival, strange events begin to materialize In the Forbidden Forrest and trouble begins o brew within the castle walls. Together with Professor Elezar Fig, you embark on a journey through both familiar and never before seen locations to bring to light the truth behind these mysterious occurrences.

On your quest you will craft potions, master new spells, and discover fantastical beasts. You will battle Dark Wizards, Goblins, and other supernatural enemies and uncover the truth about your destiny – the Fate of the Wizarding World lies in your hands.

It could all be just an elaborate hoax, but many fans have noted that there are far too many details and a lot of work put into something that looks very authentic for it to be fake. Still, many people are remaining cautiously optimistic about the potential Harry Potter RPG.

Lumos Maxima!

There is some merit to this game being in development. Last year, Warner Bros. stated that after acquiring Avalanche Software that they were looking to hire people for a triple-A British-based game.

Of course, this doesn’t necessarily mean that it was a Harry Potter title, and we don’t have much else to go on at the moment. However, if this was a legitimate clip of in-game footage for an upcoming title, we expect to hear some form of statement from the studio behind it in the coming weeks. Considering how huge the Harry Potter fan base is, it could even be only a matter of days. For now, keep your wands ready and wait for the owls to fly! Check out the alleged leaked trailer below.

Update: Since Warner Bros is blocking the content, here is the video.
