Weather Factory’s flagship game Cultist Simulator is going to soon release its first piece of DLC. The DLC, titled The Dancer, will allow players to experience the mysterious world of an occult cabaret.
Dancing for Dagon.
The new DLC for Cultist Simulator allows players to start off as a dancer in addition to previous options. The store page describes what to expect:
In the occult cabaret that calls itself the Ecdysis Club, the distinction between pleasure and pain is as delicate and essential as the human skin. It is all that keeps us from making the very worst mistakes.
Pursue a career as a Dancer at the Club. Determine which parts of yourself to surrender. Cross oceans in pursuit of the ancient rites that beat in the Wood. Consider the ascensions that open to you. Choose carefully.
Among the other features to expect are two new Ascensions (‘Heart’ and ‘Moth’), which act as victory conditions for the game. There’s also the ability to have animal spirit-selves. These can be pretty useful for a dancer, as not all dances can be done in human form.
Along with the DLC’s release, there will also be some fixes and updates for the game overall. Followers now learn from their mistakes, which makes it safer to send them out on expeditions. You can also get the opportunity to date your disciples, so get ready for some steamy writing. On the flip side, your Followers might also rebel against you if you treat them poorly. Finally, the game is getting a bunch of bug fixes and UI/UX improvements.
The Dancer and the updates/fixes release October 16. The DLC will cost $2.99.
