The world lost a legend today.
Words cannot properly describe what Stan Lee has given the world, but we’re going to have to try.
The 95 year old creator of such icons as Spider-Man, Daredevil, The Fantastic 4, The Avengers, The X-Men, and countless others died today after being rushed to the hospital for an unspecified medical emergency.
The superhero genre, and comics as a whole, would not be where they are today without Lee’s influence. Lee indirectly led to the Comics Code reforming at the height of its influence, and is almost solely responsible for Marvel Comics transformation into the entertainment empire it is today.
To the majority of fans, Lee was known for his cameo in almost every single Marvel TV show or Movie since the 90’s. His cameos led to many assuming that Lee was in fact an informant for the mythical Watchers, a theory which was proven correct in 2017’s Guardians of the Galaxy. His Final Cameo will likely be in Avengers 4, which no doubt makes the film even more tragic than it already was.
Stan Lee was a constant presence at Comic Cons, and traveled all across the world to attend fans. Lee would match the energy of the massive crowds that came to meet him.
To the greatest of all time, the King of Cameos, the champion of comics, and the master of marvel: You have forever changed the world with your work, and we are forever thankful. May you rest in peace.
We will update this article as details develops.
