The Road to Wrestlemania is going strong after one of the best Royal Rumble events we’ve watched in a while! The next stop is later today when the Elimination Chamber takes place. Are you ready for what’s coming?
Elimination Chamber
The Elimination Chamber is an event first seen on February 21, 2010, when it replaced the Pay-Per-View event No Way Out. However, the very first time we got to see an Elimination Chamber match was back in 2002, as the only caged matches the company had in the past were Hell in a Cell and Steel Cage.
The idea is simple, yet grueling: a steel cage surrounds the entire ring and ringside, there are 4 pods which keep superstars inside until the timer runs out. The match starts with 2 superstars in the ring and 4 trapped. After all 6 superstars have been released, the last man (or woman) standing will win.
Eliminations will happen through pinfall or submission, inside the ring. Of course, there’s steel cage outside the ring, where they can still wrestle.
Past Winners
We have had enough Elimination Chamber events to know what to expect. Sweat, unique maneuvers, high risk moves and if we are lucky, some blood. But, who all have won their Elimination Chamber matches in the past?
