Gearbox Software has just finished their PAX East headlining show, giving off details for all their upcoming games, updates, and publishing deals.
Yes, it’s really happening. Borderlands 3 has been officially announced after being in production for 5 years. A beautiful trailer was shown, headlining old characters and new vault hunters. While there’s no official release date shown, Gearbox has submitted a file to Steam for a March 2020 game. Hopefully it can shed more light on the release.
Borderlands HD Ultra Update
All Borderlands games on the PC, Xbox One, and PS4 will receive a free HD ultra texture pack update. This stands for The Handsome Collection, Borderlands 2, and Borderlands the Pre-Sequel.
Gearbox Publishing has made deals with many companies including Compulsion Games to release the first DLC for We Happy Few called They Come from Below, available April 4th, 2019. There is also the Bulletstorm Duke of Switch Edition with all DLC releasing Summer 2019, and Pathologic 2 by TinyBuild releasing on May 23rd 2019 on Steam.
Gearbox also brandished their publishing deal with Hopoo Games for Risk of Rain 2, which is available for early access now, and if you purchase a copy on Steam you receive a free one (up until March 30th).
Borderlands Card Game
While it’s not yet available for the general public, Gearbox is selling copies of Borderlands: Tiny Tina’s Robot Tea Party, a card game where the goal is to build a claptrap. Releasing on April 4th, 2019, the game is currently available for purchase from their website.
We’ll keep you posted on any new details that arise from Gearbox and PAX East!
