After months of anticipation, fans finally have information on the final chapter of the Skywalker Saga. The fate of the galaxy will unfold in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.
It’s safe to say that no one was ready for The Rise of Skywalker to be revealed. The teaser is packed full of hints towards just what the conclusion of this 40 year epic will bring.
The trailer is full of shots from two new planets, along with narration from Luke Skywalker himself. Lando Calrissian returns, and appears to be once again piloting his beloved Falcon.
Easily the best moment from the teaser comes immediately before the title reveal. Luke’s voice reminds Rey that “No one is ever really gone,” only to be punctuated by the iconic cackle of none other than Emperor Palpatine himself.
Whether this means that Palpatine will return or not remains to be seen, but the fact that Ian McDiarmid made a special appearance following the trailer points to the Sith Master making his return.
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker releases December 20th, 2019, and stars Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Mark Hamill, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Billy Dee Williams, Anthony Daniels, Joonas Suotamo, Kelly Marie Tran, Carrie Fisher, and possibly Ian McDiarmid.
