If you spend a considerable amount of time fantasizing what it’s like to be John Wick, daydream no more. Blithell Games brings us John Wick Hex, a new strategy action game described as “fight-choreographed chess.”
This is the latest addition to the John Wick franchise. Mike Blithell, developer of Volume, Thomas Was Alone, and Subsurface Circular, has teamed up with Good Shepherd Entertainment and Lionsgate. Here’s a quick summary from Good Shepherd Entertainment:
John Wick Hex is a fast-paced, action-oriented strategy game that makes you think and strike like John Wick, the professional hitman of Lionsgate’s critically acclaimed film franchise, returning to theaters worldwide on May 17, 2019, with John Wick: Chapter 3 — Parabellum. The game is in development for consoles and will be available for Windows PC and Mac exclusively via the Epic Games Store at launch.
John Wick Hex is one of a kind in the way it blurs the genre line between strategy and action. Even better, creative teams behind the successful films worked closely with developers. As a result, players can expect the same gun fu style. No word if a cute Beagle puppy is an option among weapons, suits, and locations throughout the game.
Voice work actors include Ian McShane and Lance Reddick, with additional casting TBA. There’s also no release date yet for consoles, PC, or Mac, but you can expect more information at E3 next month. And if you haven’t seen what’s coming your way, check out the trailer below:
